My current teaching job has given me some opportunities to develop skills in the area of utilization. Here, I have examples of developing a new technology program at my school, as well as planning materials for teaching an inservice. These two artifacts show how these ideas were implemented and institutionalized.

Tech Electives; Proposals & PresentationsAt Hyde Middle School, the technology-based course electives were outdated and did not meet state standards. The Electives Department elected me to conduct research, help restructure the program, gain funding, and present the changes to our staff and school board. This artifact shows the presentation of our process, as well as all of the documents associated with making change, promoting the new classes, and achieving funding for the new television broadcasting studio. |

ePortfolio; Implementation InstructionsIn order to effectively utilize the the ePortfolio program, it was important that I put together clear instructions that describe why we are using this program and what user expectations include. This artifact is a PDF of the information presented on the ePortfolio website. It expresses, in student-friendly tone, how the ePortfolio program will be utilized in the Visual Art classes. |

New Teacher Inservice; Planning MaterialsTo assist beginning teachers in my school district, I have often been asked to present on classroom management, easing the paper load, and other topics that help de-stress new teachers. These materials are my instructional outline that layout the topics covered in this presentation. Sometimes I have delivered this instruction alone, and other times I have team taught with other teachers. My hope has been that teachers can leave the presentation with a few ideas of how they can de-stress in their jobs and spend more time focused on students and curriculum. |
