Overview
As a Visual Arts educator, it is my vision to create proven tools that enhance student experiences in learning and appreciating the Visual Arts. This portfolio is a combined result of my studies in Instructional Technology at San Jose State University and my experience teaching the Visual Arts.
While evidence of my abilities is presented in a range of Instructional Technology areas, my expertise area is the Applications of Instructional Design in the Visual Arts. This area was selected because of my strong training in both Studio Arts and Art History, as well as years of experience teaching the Visual Arts to K-12 audiences.
I consider myself to be a lifelong learner and am constantly seeking new opportunities to deliver motivational, content-rich, learner-centered tools to both students and teachers.

1:1 Laptop Ratios; A StudyThe school district in which I teach was considering a 1:1 laptop program for our students. When pondering the learning opportunities for students engaged in such a program, I set out to research the pros and cons of offering each child a laptop. This paper is a result of my research in this area. This study took me through many surveys and case studies of programs that have implemented 1:1 laptops, and helped to open my eyes to the many possibilities involved. In the end, I came to the personal conclusion that a well-implemented laptop program can be exceptionally beneficial for students and teachers, and do much to help close the digital divide. |
